The person behind the lens.
Introduction
Hi, I am Lucian, a photographer, filmmaker and designer based in Dublin and Wexford. I picked up my first camera at thirteen and never really put it down. Fourteen years on, I tell stories for brands and people through photos, film and design, and I do it as one person who genuinely cares about the result.
Professional Biography
Over the last fourteen years I have become a full-time photographer and filmmaker, with graphic design and illustration in the mix since 2014, and more than a thousand clients along the way. On film I write, shoot and edit. I made a cinematic film with Hannah-Kathleen Hawkshaw, Miss International Ireland and Europe 2024. I have shot commercials for Circle K and Shein, collaborated on TV and documentary projects, among them The Tolka: This is Your River and a documentary on Ireland's Lithuanian community, and produced salon and beauty commercials that play almost like short films. I also wrote, shot and edited the festival short Awake (2023). On social, a year of organic content for Smokin Bones averaged around 15,000 views a video, with hits up to 200,000 and no paid ads. Different work, same thing every time: I think in stories, not just nice frames.
Philosophy and Approach
One person, one clear vision. I work like a creative director for a brand: photos, film, social and design all come from the same eye, so everything looks like it belongs together. I am close to the work and easy to reach, and when a project needs more hands I bring in trusted people I have worked with for years. And I bring something most people behind a camera do not: I have run businesses from the inside, including hospitality, so I understand what a client actually needs from their marketing, not just how to make it look good.
Personal Insight
Off the clock, you will usually find me on my boat in Malahide, out with the drone over the Irish coast, or restoring something with my hands. Ireland's landscapes and a good soundtrack are where a lot of my ideas start.
